Show a little 'amor' to La Xalapena

This is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants. They'll whip up something you might expect -- a taco, burrito or enchilada.
Or, owner Ernestina Ortiz may have a steaming bowl of Mexican chicken soup on the stove. This is it in the picture -- and it's as aromatic and flavorful as it appears -- with two, big, skin-on chicken pieces and plenty of fresh cilantro.
I don't go there enough -- nor does anyone else. This week, when you're deciding on a destination for lunch or dinner, make an effort to see Ernestina. She told me today that she's working on improving her English -- and she's doing pretty good studying by herself. She could use an encouraging word, and a few customers.
