Hooray for Vic's for assembling a great menu of small plates to accompany this multi-course wine dinner featuring special guest Kevin Sass, wine maker for Halter Ranch Winery of Paso Robles. Sass came to Halter Ranch after an 11-year stints at Justin Vineyards. The property has a rich, pioneering history among Paso Robles wineries.
If you love Paso wines -- this is guaranteed to be a remarkable evening of food and wine.
Vic's is keeping the portions small -- and passing the savings on to you. I'm excited to experience a wine dinner that doesn't leave me feeling overstuffed. Folks, it's about the flavors, the experience and the company of such a celebrated wine maker.
Tentatively, expect 2010 Côtes de Paso Blanc, a white Rhône style blend; 2009 Viognier; 2010 Rosé (Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre); 2006 Ancestor, Estate Reserve; 2007 Côtes de Paso, formerly called GSM, a red Rhône style blend; 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon and a special dessert wine.
I tasted these wines yesterday with Vic's chef and was blown away by the complexity and body of the whites and the expressiveness and richness of the reds.

Vineyards are always sights to behold. They look relaxing, peaceful, and majestic. Their prestige is even further realized by the product they produce.
ReplyDeleteYou are so right about that! Stay tuned, I' have reviews coming on wines from Shinas Vineyards...oh, and Torbreck. I enjoyed a 99 Torbreck Runrig just last week -- great juice.
